Secrets of Divisoria

My friend Rose gave me and Kits a tour in Divisoria last week. It is really important that when you go there, you know which place to go. And she knows! :) She knows how to haggle too (which is really impressive!)

Well, our goal is to find great materials (which will not cost much) for our DIY party for Patty (Kits' daughter). We want to buy bottles for vases, papers for pinwheels, cloth for tables and ribbons for decorations. With Rose's help, we were able to find great stores that sell what we need in a low price.

So those who are planning to DIY their weddings, baby showers or other parties, Divisoria is the place for you! :)

Here are the stores that we visited:

1. Happy Note-168 Mall (Stall# 4I-14-15)
It's surprising that even in 168, you can find cheap materials for your party needs. You can buy paper lanterns (small:P25, large: P30) and other paper products for decorations. There are different kinds of balloons, paper hats and other stuff for kiddie parties. 



2. Michelle's

If you're a lover of arts-and-craft, you'll definitely like Michelle's. They have different kinds of ribbons (ranging from P7/yard to P20 or so). I wasn't able to take pictures because bawal but i love it there! There are different kinds of washi tapes, buttons, felt board and decorative materials for scrap book and DIY projects. It's kinda pricey but way, way cheaper compare to the usual price in the mall. The store is very organized and their items are really pretty. 

3. Tabora Market

Tabora is my favorite spot in Divisoria. The items are cheap and easy to find! If you're looking for bottles for your DIY projects, better visit Tabora. It's near the old Divisoria mall. The bottles on the picture cost P5 to P15. Tip: If you don't need the cover, you can buy it P2 or P3 cheaper. :) 

This is a unique bottle. Oh my gosh, I really like this! It costs P8. 

This one naman captured my attention because the bottles at the back are really big! So they're good for storing a lot of things and the sort of wine bottles can be used for vases. 

In Tabora, you can also find stores that sell different kinds of candies in a very low price. The fruits and vegetables stores are there too and you can buy oranges, apples, grapes and cherry apples in a good price. 

On the way to Tabora, there's this one street that house different kinds of stores for souvenirs and cloths. You can also find a rather old store there that sells different kinds of ribbons (Sorry, I forgot the store's name). But the ribbons there are really cheap, believe me! 

4. Geppco
Geppco is a new discovery for me. It is also in the Tabora area. This store sells different kinds of specialty papers! Nakakalula for a paper-lover like me. And the price---definitely cheap! :)

So here goes the secrets of Divisoria. I'm sure there are still  more stores to discover there.

    You're welcome, Riza! Actually, sa Ilaya (street na deretso to Tabora) maraming stores ng ribbons (mas mura pero hindi kasing organized ng Michelle's). Ang sayang magpakasal, ano? :)

      Sorry for the late reply. It's in the Tutuban Mall area. Hindi sa 168 or Divi Mall. Tutuban, first floor. I think you can ask around don sa may area ng Tutuban :) Hope that helps!

    Thank you very much for mentioning Geppco. My wife-to-be and I are planning a DIY invitation cards for our wedding and we are hunting for paper suppliers. We will check Geppco out and see if we get what we want there.

      Hi Arlene. Thanks for dropping by :) I'm not exactly sure WHERE. But you can try Geppco or yong store malapit don. Me mga paper materials din sila. You can also ask around pagpunta mo don, just in case wala kang mahanap :) Pasensya na, I hope this helps!

      No worries Eiron. :) Geppco is near the OLD Divisoria Mall (Tabora-De Santos area; the one that was burned a year ago), a bit far from Tutuban mall. Everyone knows where the old divisoria mall is so you can ask the vendors :)

    Good Day,
    I am looking for a blog that gives hints where i can buy some small glass jars for my small business and i'm so blessed to drop in this blog. I am a young entrepreneur who would wanted to start a business with a great blast in arts and crafts business. You have mentioned above that those jars and bottles you found at Tabora were really cheap. I got interested to it when i have read it. Can you tell me the exact location of Tabora market?       Hi Rod! :) Here's a map. I'm not so good in giving directions but Tabora Market is just beside the old Divisoria Mall (maybe 100 meters or more from Tutuban Mall). You may ask around, people would know where the market is (they're just stalls in the road so you can easily spot them)

    Where can i find unbranded chcolates in divisoria? kse we went to Lucky ChinaTown mall last week and we bought chocolates and candies at a candy store near the cinemas. Nagustuhan namen ung dark chocolate with almonds and we want to know where we can find it if there is in Divisoria.

      Hi Miss Nora. No store that caters beach wedding alone. However, I think maraming mga stalls na nag titinda ng mga corals and shells sa street papuntang Tabora. Just ask around at sabihin nyo sa street na may mga wedding invi at souvenirs. Sikat po yon don. Ang landmark na malapit ay Old Divisoria Mall (na nasunog).

    I've been to divisoria, tabora several times. Also We've been circling around the stores near the old divisoria mall(the one that got burned) but still I cant find where GEPPCO is, can you/anyone tell me where the exact location is?

      Hi Junica :) It's really hard to find GEPPCO. I only found it by chance. When you reach the Tabora-Delos Santos intersection, walk to the left side. You'll find GEPPCO on the left side. The sign is a bit small so you have to really pay attention. Hope that helps!

      Sa Pasilio 2M po. Sa 2nd floor po ng 168. Nag iisang tindihan lang po sila dun ng mga school supplies. Nakabili po ako dun ng mga punchers with designs. 100 for corner puncher and 120 for border puncher. Hope this helps!

      Hi there Paula :) Sorry to hear that. It's really difficult to find GEPPCO. Marami na ring nagtanong sa akin. Kapag diniretso mo yong street to Tabora Market beside the old Divisoria Mall, kumaliwa ka. You may ask around, baka alam nila. Otherwise, kung wala na talagang GEPPCO baka nagclose na sila. This post is one year old na kasi. I haven't visited Divi since then. :( If ever, makavisit ulit ako, hihingi na ako ng calling card nila :)

      Hi Simplyme: Sorry for the late reply. Divisoria- Tabora area is a hub for invitations, etc. So there's a big possibility na maraming nagbebenta dun ng mga ganoon :) Sorry can't help you with the specifics.

    I would recommend tiktilaok kabuhayan center. They are located at La Loma, QC. 0925.338.3338. They sell brand new jars at very good price. When you are applying for BFAD permit, they can even help you with securing certificate of food safe.

    This post is very helpful. That Geppco place you were able to visit, wow! I've been looking for the best place to buy specialty paper and gift wrapping paper like those in the picture for my craft projects at home. I hope I'd be able to find it when I go to Divi sometime soon. I was able to buy a few scrapbook paper in Wellmanson, Quiapo, as I posted here:

    But of course, they only have a few since they specialize more on beads and such so I assume Geppco would have a lot more of these and would be cheaper, I hope. =) I've read that some people who commented here also asked where this is so this might help because after reading your blog I searched for this place, I've seen results for Golden Era Paper Products Corp, so I think it's one and the same, I'm not sure. Anyway, I'll keep a lookout for this and possibly ask the vendors there in Tabora and M. De Santos, maybe they know Golden Era instead of Geppco, or maybe I'll just look where number 623 M. De Santos is, it's what google showed when I searched for Geppco's address. Well, too long for a comment, lol. Thanks again for this gold mine.
